Our next Teacher Training Day will be in September 2021
The event will be held online and in person, in a live and interactive format. It will comprise the following optional sessions (all in UK time): - A Guide to the US Application Process for Schools (Advisor level: beginner to intermediate): 9am-1pm
- Networking forum (informal chance to connect with colleagues over Europe) : 1-2pm
- US College Applications Masterclass (Advisor level: intermediate to advanced): 2-4pm
Trainers include David Hawkins, one of Europe's best-known advisors; Jason Smith, founder of UES Education; and sports advisors.
This event is aimed at teachers who handle US applications, including Overseas Universities Advisors, Heads of Careers, and Heads of Sixth Form, and includes physical training materials posted to you.
US Applications Masterclass with David Hawkins of The University GuysDavid Hawkins is a CIS and IECA recoignised advisor, and one of the best known US applications consultants in Europe. He spent four years as Head of US Applications and Head of Careers at Taunton School and then two years as Head of College and Careers Counselling at the International School of Brussels, before setting up The University Guys. This masterclass is aimed at advisors who have some experience of managing US applications at their school. This session includes: - Raising the profile of US applications provision to students, parents, and staff
- Building the case for US applications provision within the school
- Effective data management and resource-building
- Motivating, guiding, and managing students
- Managing teachers and their obligations
- Improving letters of recommendation
- Delivering successful HE events
- Complex case studies
