US Applications Training

Our next Teacher Training Day will be on Wednesday 20th March 2024

The event will be held in-person and online, in an interactive format. It will comprise the following sessions (all times in UK time):

  • A Guide to the US Application Process for Schools (Advisor level: beginner to intermediate): 11am-4pm
    • This event is CPD certified and attendees will receive a certificate after the event
  • Catered Lunch (and informal chance to connect with colleagues): 1-2pm

Please note that this Teacher Training Day will not include a US Applications Masterclass. However, in-person attendees are encouraged to attend the UES Mock Admissions Event, which will begin at 5pm the same day and will also be held at Bulstrode Building, Wetherby Senior School.

Trainers include Jason Smith, founder of UES Education.  

This event is aimed at teachers who handle US applications, including Overseas Universities Advisors, Heads of Careers, and Heads of Sixth Form, and includes physical training materials posted to you (if you are not attending in person), and a catered lunch . The in-person event will be held at Bulstrode Building, Wetherby Senior School (in Marylebone, London) .

Jason Smith, founder of UES, will take you through our comprehensive guide to US Applications, which is CPD certified (attendees will receive a certificate after the event). The session will be live and interactive, and is designed to help you plan the provision in your school and gain a solid understanding of all of the aspects of US Applications, including:

  • Promoting US applications within the school
  • Guiding students on college choice

  • The Common Application and other university portals
  • Standardised testing
  • Essays and interviews
  • Letters of recommendation
  • School reports and transcripts
  • Early Applications, Waitlisting, and Decisions

Teachers will be given (or sent) sent a resource pack that includes our advisor guide and sample transcripts.
